As a Critical Access Hospital, we pride ourselves in providing excellent healthcare to the residents of the communities we serve.   Recognized by the National Rural Health Association in 2013 and 2014 as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in the nation in the area of Patient Perspective, and one of the Top 50 CAHs to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review in 2015 and 2016, our hospital is dedicated to meeting the needs of our patients now and into the future.  Established in the 1890’s, we benefit from a close affiliation with Providence Health Services, the largest healthcare system in the region.  Recently renovated, Whitman Hospital and Medical Center is a beautiful facility in the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse.

We offer a wide range of services including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, obstetrics, surgical, imaging, laboratory and therapy.    WHMC serves a 1,200 square mile district in Whitman County, WA including the towns of Colfax, LaCrosse, Endicott, St. John, Steptoe, Hooper and Hay.  We are licensed by the state of Washington as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and certified as a Medicare/Medicaid and Labor & Industries provider.
